Microsoft includes Modernsoft's Financial Genome as available add-in in Office
XP book/CD series
San Mateo, CA, August 8, 2001. Modernsoft, Inc.'s
advanced financial business planning software Financial Genome has been included
in two volumes of Microsoft Corp.'s just released Inside Out series of books/CDs
about Office XP and Excel 2002. An add-in to Excel 2000 and 2002, Financial
Genome can be installed for trial from the Inside Out companion CDs, which
contain software products that extend the features of Microsoft
Office.
"We are very pleased to have been provided this
world-wide exposure of our product by Microsoft," said Dr. Erich A. Helfert, CEO
and co-founder of Modernsoft, Inc. "Financial Genome is a unique,
knowledge-based business analysis and planning application."
Financial Genome introduces financial intelligence to
spreadsheet analysis and financial forecasting. It provides freedom from
spreadsheet cell locations, formula creation, and associated errors common in
traditional spreadsheets. The software empowers both the business analysis
professional and the non-technical user to create internally consistent
financial statements, fully integrated forecasts, as well as ad-hoc analyses,
from databases and user inputs. Modernsoft, Inc. holds several U.S. patents for
the underlying FinGen technology.
Financial Genome is designed around the concept of
the integrated business system as the core of financial analysis and planning,
presented in the best-selling book Techniques of Financial Analysis, 10th
edition, by the company's chairman, Dr. Erich A, Helfert. A revised version of
the book for the professional market, Financial Analysis: Tools and Techniques,
will appear in September 2001.
Modernsoft, Inc. has just released version 4.5 of
Financial Genome, which is available for a 30-day trial download and purchase on
the company's web site www.modernsoft.com.
