Dr. Helfert is Managing Principal of Helfert
Associates, where he is involved in executive development and consulting
in finance and strategy, including tailored shareholder value management
seminars for Fortune 100 and technology companies. He is also a frequent
public speaker on financial/economic management issues. Prior to his
current activity, Dr. Helfert was Vice President, Corporate Planning at
Crown Zellerbach Corporation, where he served twenty years in a variety of
high-level positions involving strategy and portfolio planning,
financial/economic analysis, and senior management development. Before
entering the corporate environment, he taught finance and controllership
at the Harvard Business School for seven years, including course
development and consulting activities. Dr. Helfert is the author of "Techniques
of Financial Analysis", the best-selling and most widely published text
on financial analysis since 1963, appearing in its 11th edition in July
2002, and which has been translated into ten languages. He has also
authored and co-authored several other books on finance, and recently
published his first literary work, "Valley of the
Shadow".
